In honor of earth day I brought the beautiful and calming colors of our earth together to make a compelling decor for any living area.

The cool blue compliments the fresh greens like the clear blue sky on a sunny afternoon making the back drop for lush green grass and rich and abundant green leaves on the trees.  Now picture these same colors in a living area.  Feel the beauty inside as well as out.  It is new, exciting, full of life as well as affordable!! The colors of the seas surrounding tropical islands are the most compelling and exquisite in the world.  The color scheme of this living area captures the soothing colors of these seas with multi shades of aqua giving way to depths of space.  The accents of natural wood further enhance the decor with a feeling of a tropical beach.  And who doesn’t want that, especially at these prices. The ocean and the earth are what this world is made of.  It’s a beautiful combination.  It is the color of unity.  The colors all of us in this world see everyday in the blue skies and solid earth under our feet.  What could be more beautiful.  You can see the beauty of this color scheme reflected in the decor above.  It takes the ocean’s blue colors and combines them with the natural colors of earth.  (see where to buy below)

Luggage Trunks have been carrying people’s clothing and wares for thousands of years. It is amazing they never went out of style. Probably the longest lasting trend ever.   (don’t google it). Today they still look great and have many different uses – my favorite being the coffee table. It adds character and uniqueness to any living space and best of all you can store pillows and throws in it or anything else. If you have a surprise visitor throw the mess in the trunk. Makes for a quick clean up.

The first picture is my inspiration. The trunks were all stacked at a local antique warehouse. It actually looks pretty cool. I was drawn by the appearance as well as the functionality. I could see that look in an apartment where more storage is needed.

Actual trunk coffee tables are all offered for sale in the picture above. You can find various looks and costs from many different stores. You may have one already hiding somewhere in your basement or attic. Maybe your parents or grandparents have one hidden away. Or you can buy an antique trunk . Oh the history it will have.
